A Mixed Bag: The Truth Edition

I'll be honest, I went into listening to these IEMs with high hopes. As a fan of the "Truth" line, I was curious to see how they'd translate the sound to an in-ear format. And while they do deliver on some fronts, others left me feeling...underwhelmed.

The first thing that struck me was the treble extension - it's as airy and sparkling as I've come to expect from this series. But delve deeper, and you'll find a soundstage that feels somewhat contained. It's not bad by any means, but for an IEM touted as the "Truth Edition", I expected more. The midrange, in particular, felt slightly muffled at times - almost as if it was trying to compensate for some unknown frequency imbalance.

That being said, dynamics and bass response are where these IEMs truly shine. They pack a punch that's hard to ignore, even on quieter tracks. But when you're already leaning into the lows, it can feel like they're overpowering everything else.

Build quality is solid - not exceptional, but more than serviceable. You get what you'd expect from an in-ear monitor of this caliber: sturdy construction and a comfortable fit.

If you're someone who prioritizes that bass-driven sound, these might be worth a listen. Just temper your expectations when it comes to the overall presentation.
